How the Cement Calculator Calculation Works
Cement calculation is based on concrete volume and mix ratio. Standard mix ratios are 1:2:3 (cement:sand:aggregate) for general use.
Formula:
Cement = (Volume × Cement Ratio) ÷ Total Ratio × Density Factor
For M20 grade concrete (1:1.5:3 ratio), we calculate material quantities including 2% wastage and compaction factors.
Example Calculation
Real-World Scenario:
Pouring a concrete slab 10 ft × 8 ft × 4 inches thick using M20 grade concrete.
1Calculate volume: 10 × 8 × (4÷12) = 26.67 cubic feet
2Convert to cubic meters: 26.67 ÷ 35.31 = 0.755 cubic meters
3For 1:1.5:3 ratio, cement needed: 0.755 × 403 = 304 kg
4Convert to bags: 304 ÷ 50 = 6.08 bags
Result: 7 bags of cement needed (50kg bags)
